Leicester v Tottenham betting tips: European spots on the line

| 20.05.2021

Leicester host Tottenham in the final round of Premier League fixtures with both sides vying for a European place.

Having been in the top four since December, FA Cup winners Leicester dropped to fifth when Liverpool won at Burnley on Wednesday, so Brendan Rodgers’ side now need to either better the Reds’ result against Crystal Palace or hope that Chelsea fail to win at Aston Villa.

Should the Blues drop points then Leicester would secure Champions League football next season with a win against Spurs at evens, while a draw – priced at 13/5 – would be enough if Chelsea lose by three or more goals.

The atmosphere should be exciting with 8,000 fans ready to greet their FA Cup heroes as we examine the latest odds for our Leicester v Tottenham betting tips.

Match Odds

Tottenham are 12/5 to secure the win they need to boost their own European hopes .

Spurs must win and hope West Ham lose to Southampton to snatch a Europa League spot,  but they could be knocked out of the Europa Conference League place by Everton, Arsenal or Leeds if they fail to take all three points from the King Power Stadium.

Leicester are 12/1 to repeat the 2-0 win they secured in the reverse fixture earlier this season, or 5/2 to win to nil again.

Harry Kane Tottenham

Tottenham have lost four of their last seven away games, a run that includes only one win, and lost at home to Aston Villa last time out.

Star striker Harry Kane is reportedly looking to leave this summer, and Spurs are 5/1 to lose both halves.

However, no team has scored more goals than Spurs in the first 15 minutes of Premier League games this season and Ryan Mason’s team are 17/2 to score inside the first 10 minutes or 8/1 to net between 11-20 minutes.

Talking Tactics

Gareth Bale was rested for Spurs’ midweek defeat to Villa and the Real Madrid loanee is likely to come back into the side for what could be both his and Kane’s last Tottenham appearances.

Kelechi Iheanacho came off the bench to score in Leicester’s defeat to Chelsea and should come back in alongside Jamie Vardy for what is a must-win game for Rodgers’ side.

Jonny Evans is likely to be ruled out by injury again.

Goalscorer Odds

Kane is currently level with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot and faces one of his favourite opponents, having scored 16 goals in 15 previous games against Leicester.

The 27-year-old striker is 4/1 to score first or 6/4 to net at any time, with a hat-trick in his possible Spurs swansong priced at 50/1.

Vardy opened the scoring when these sides met in north London and is 4/1 to do so again, or 6/4 to find the back of the net at any time, while Dele Alli has appeared rejuvenated under Mason in recent weeks and is 16/1 to strike first or 11/2 to score at any time.
