Wins for the league’s top two and a second home victory for York City pays 9.74/1.
Torquay v Oxford United – Oxford @ 11/8
Oxford have begun the season in auspicious fashion, winning both of their opening fixtures and bagging a league-leading six goals in the process. They look well placed to maintain their position at the top of League Two here.
They won this fixture 3-1 last term, and are now unbeaten in five with Torquay. In addition, they have now won their last five league fixtures, while with a pair of draws to date Torquay have yet to hit top gear.
Fleetwood Town v Burton – Fleetwood @ 10/11
These two took one victory apiece from their encounters last season, with Burton winning 4-0 away at Highbury Stadium. However, Martin Allen’s have a good chance to make amends for that humiliation here.
The well-moneyed Cod Army have strengthened significantly over the summer, and with two wins from two – both by two-goal margins – appear to be progressing well.
While Burton beat Rochdale last week, the 1-0 scoreline came against a side which was reduced to 10 men for 83 minutes. They could struggle to get a result against a side who are many people’s favourites to go up in May.
York City v Hartlepool – York City @ 23/20
Hartlepool’s struggles in front of goal last season have so far failed to subside. In being relegated form League One last term Pools scored a league-low 39 goals, and they are yet to score in League Two. Since the beginning of March this year, they have won just two competitive fixtures, losing all three in this campaign.
York City have won and lost to date in the league, though their victory came at Bootham Crescent against last season’s play-off runners-up Northampton Town. They appear well priced to subject the Monkey Hangers to a third defeat this weekend.
A £10 stake returns £97.48.
