League One leaders Brighton have slipped up somewhat in recent weeks, with a 3-1 defeat against Hartlepool being followed with a 2-2 draw at home to Bristol Rovers on Saturday.
With Southampton heading into this game on the back of a 4-1 win over Peterborough, backing Nigel Adkins’ men at evens looks to be well worth a bet.
The south coast side have only shipped two goals in their last seven home games and with Brighton conceding seven in their last three games in all competitions, it’s hard to see anything but a win for the Saints.
Charlton Athletic v Bristol Rovers
Second place Charlton Athletic welcome a Bristol Rovers side who haven’t recorded a victory in five League One games.
They held leaders Brighton 2-2 at the weekend thanks to a last minute Marcos Painter strike, but will not be able to get anything out of this clash with a rampant Charlton.
Addicks’ boss Phil Parkinson will be without Christian Dailly who starts a four match suspension following his second sending-off of the season, but that won’t stop Charlton picking up three points. They have won seven of their last eight games and look good at 4/6 to win.
Colchester v Brentford
Colchester lie third in League One thanks to a dramatic late winner against Hartlepool on Saturday.
They have lost just two games all season but will face a tricky task to get all three points against Brentford. The Bees have picked up in recent weeks having started the season with just one win in their opening nine games – they have now won their last three on the road.
With two teams in such good form, backing a draw at 12/5 looks very tempting.
