The thrill of landing a juicy accumulator or spotting a big priced winner at the races is one we all know too well.

But knowing when to stop and maintaining control when you’re not having such a great time is something that should be even more important.

That’s why as one of the world’s leading bookmakers, we are supporting the latest campaign from the Senet Group that highlights the message of “When the fun stops, stop!”

The Senet Group is a new independent watchdog set up by Ladbrokes, William Hill, Paddy Power and Coral to promote responsible gambling across the industry.

To kick-start the campaign, the body has released two television adverts to highlight the potential risks of gambling and the benefits of staying in control.

As part of the group’s message and our philosophy here are the five golden rules of gambling:

–          Set your limits at the start

–          Only bet what you can afford

–          Never chase your losses

–          Don’t bet if you’re getting angry

–          Never put betting before your mates

Supported extensively through its members’ Retail and Digital channels, as well as our own television adverts, the Senet Group are committed to pushing the #BadBetty message.

Not only this, but the we, as bookmakers, have agreed to remove advertising for gaming machines in shop windows and are voluntarily restricting the advertising of sign-up offers on television until after 9pm.

This venture is just another step we are taking to ensure customers are well aware of how they can practice responsible gambling.

Last summer, we were the first bookie to produce a television campaign solely highlighting the importance of responsible gambling, with our very own Mr Brightside taking centre stage.

Those seeking more advice or those who have concerns about their gambling, can visit Gamble Aware or check out Ladbrokes’ own advice for more helpful information.

Remember it is in your hands.

So, when the fun stops, stop!
