La Liga betting tips and odds

All eyes will be on Saturday’s games in La Liga when the top five and Barcelona are all in action.

The late game is the pick of the bunch as leaders Real Madrid travel to third-placed Real Socided whose 13-game unbeaten run ended last weekend with a 1-0 defeat at Espanyol.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are the 23/20 favourites to win this weekend but Sociedad will have benefited from more rest, so let’s check out some of the options in La Liga betting tips.

Real Sociedad v Real Madrid

Madrid went seven points clear at the top of the table on Wednesday night when they beat Athletic Bilbao, so Sociedad have a bit of catching up to do if they are to win their first title in 40 years.

Imanol Alguacil’s men have taken just one point from their last two games and in between lost to Monaco in the Europa League which means they must beat PSV in the final group game just to make it through to the preliminary knockout round.

The hosts have failed to win any of their last four meetings with Real Madrid, but drew both of last season’s encounters which can be backed at 12/5, while either 0-0 or 1-1 is 13/4.

Los Blancos have won their last four and conceded, available at 3/1, and with three of those wins ending 2-1 that scoreline is priced at 15/2 as one of La Liga betting tips from Sunday’s action.

Barcelona v Real Betis

Xavi’s unbeaten start as Barcelona manager is likely to be tested at Camp Nou with the visit of fifth-placed Betis whose form over the course of eight and 10 games is bettered only by Real Madrid.

Barcelona needed a couple of late goals from Memphis Depay and Philippe Coutinho to make it back-to-back Liga wins in a tetchy 3-1 victory at Villarreal last time out and they are just 1/2 to beat Betis, who have lost to Real Madrid, Atletico and Sevilla this season without scoring.

The Catalans are, therefore, 7/4 to win to nil or 29/20 to keep a clean sheet, but the last seven games between these clubs have produced goals galore, Barca winning six of them by an aggregate of 28-13.

Barca are 7/4 to win and concede as they did in all six wins and 66/1 for a third successive 5-2 victory in this fixture, while Betis are 12/5 to score at least twice as they have in the last four meetings.

Atletico Madrid v Mallorca

The last of La Liga betting tips from Sunday’s games involves champions Atletico who have won four and drawn three of their past seven and are 1/3 to pick up three points at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Mallorca’s excellent start to the season is starting to fade on the back of a seven-game winless run, although they have drawn five of their previous six, one of which came against Sevilla nine days after being denied a point by a last-minute winner at 10-man Sociedad.

The visitors are 15/4 to win or 23/10 to avoid defeat, but Diego Simeone’s side have not conceded in four of their last five home games and are 20/23 to win to nil for a third successive match in the capital.

Interestingly, Mallorca have the best first-half record in La Liga (W6 D7 L2), so they are 3/4 to win or draw the opening 45 minutes, while Draw HT/Atletico FT can be backed at 5/2.
