Fulham v Burnley betting tips: Clarets could condemn Cottagers to the drop

Fulham’s fleeting appearance in the Premier League could end this weekend but victory over Burnley would give them a slim chance of beating the drop.

The Cottagers are 5/4 to get the win which would leave them six points adrift of the Clarets with three games remaining but a Burnley victory at 23/10 will effectively send them back to the Championship.

It’s all or nothing for Scott Parker’s side so we’re taking a look at some of the markets for Monday night’s Fulham v Burnley betting tips.

Match Odds

Fulham’s tough run of fixtures has ultimately proved their undoing, having taken just one point from their last six games having lost to Manchester City, Chelsea and Leeds, with Manchester United still to come.

These teams drew 1-1 in February and another share-all is priced at 9/4, whereas a score draw is 13/4 and a repeat of that scoreline 5/1.

Fulham’s lack of goals recently is a big concern and just four in their last nine matches means we go 10/11 on at least one team not to score, with the hosts available at 27/10 to fire blanks as they have done 16 times this season – the second highest in the Premier League.

Burnley’s last six games have produced at least three goals, though, and that market is available at 21/20.

Talking Tactics

Burnley are in no rush to win this game but should they go a goal down we may see their attacking side which has been prominent lately.

Sean Dyche consistently plays a 4-4-2 formation, so Chris Wood will accompany one of Matej Vydra, Jay Rodriguez or Ashley Barnes in attack.

Josh Maja has led the line in the last two games for Fulham and although he put the Cottagers ahead at Arsenal, the on-loan striker has not scored from open play in almost three months.

Goalscorer Odds

Wood is the clear favourite at 7/2 to get the ball rolling and 7/5 to score any time having struck seven times in his last seven games.

The former Leeds striker bagged a hat-trick at Wolves and is 17/2 to get two or more while another treble is 50/1.

It’s hard to see where Fulham’s goals are going to come from but Maja is 15/8 to get on the scoresheet, with Aleksandar Mitrovic 2/1 despite not starting a game in a month.
