As we digest the action from the weekend, we look ahead to what sport is coming your way over the next seven days. We’ve hand-picked five events to keep tabs on this week.
With more sport than you to shake a stick at, it can be easy to lose track of all the sport going on right now. Here is what we have lined-up…
Champions League
It’s the penultimate round of group stage matches in the Champions League with plenty still to be decided in the race for the knockout stages.
On Tuesday, Manchester City travel to Porto with their qualification already confirmed. However, victory will wrap up top spot in Group C with Manchester City 7/10 favourites to win the match.
Elsewhere, Liverpool v Ajax will be worth a watch with only two points separating the top three teams in the group. A home win would see Jurgen Klopp’s side progress to the last 16.
On Wednesday, we’ve got Manchester United v PSG as the Red Devils aim to retain top spot ahead of the French champions. In Group E, Sevilla v Chelsea will see two already-qualified teams go head-to-head in a shootout for top spot.
Snooker UK Championship
Who’ll win the first Triple Crown event of the season? The action continues throughout the week with the final taking place in Milton Keynes on Sunday.
World number one Judd Trump will be hoping to move one step closer to a second UK title when he plays Liang Wenbo later today. Trump is 1/6 to win the match and remains the 7/4 favourite to win the UK Championship ahead of Neil Robertson (9/2) and Mark Selby (6/1).
South Africa v England 3rd T20I
On Tuesday, England will look to make it three wins from three when they take on South Africa at Newlands.
Eoin Morgan’s men have impressed with both bat and ball with the likes of Jonny Bairstow, Dawid Malan, Sam Curran and Jofra Archer hitting fine form in time for the T20 World Cup.
South Africa will be looking for a response as they bid to find a bit of momentum heading into the subsequent ODI series. England are 8/15 favourites to win. South Africa are 6/4.
Tingle Creek
We head to Sandown at the weekend for the pick of the Horse Racing action. The Tingle Creek Chase (14:35) is one of the highlights of the National Hunt calendar and this year suggests no different.
Moscow Flyer, Kauto Star, Master Minded and Sprinter Sacre are among the past champions in the prestigious race as some of the most renowned two-mile chasers buckle up in a competitive field on day two of racing.
Premier League
There is also a full schedule of football to tackle with some mammoth ties in the Premier League to enjoy across the weekend.
Aston Villa v Newcastle kick-off the weekend action on Friday night at Villa Park, before four games on Saturday including Manchester City v Fulham, West Ham v Manchester United and Chelsea v Leeds.
On Sunday, we have the pick of the weekend matches with Tottenham v Arsenal in a North London derby before Liverpool host Wolves at Anfield to conclude the weekend’s games.
