Chelsea v Man United: back goals in the FA Cup quarter-final replay

Chelsea face Manchester United in their FA Cup quarter-final replay with things almost too close to call.

The Blues are currently available at 6/4 while Sir Alex Ferguson’s side are 17/10 to make it to a Wembley semi-final.

The first match between the sides ended in a 2-2 draw after Chelsea came back from 2-0 down to earn this replay at Stamford Bridge.

Four goals in a match between these sides may appear to be a large amount considering the relatively competitive nature of their clashes but a look into their recent encounters reveals that four is pretty much par for the course

In fact, that 2-2 draw was the seventh consecutive game between these sides that has yielded at least three goals.

That stat makes backing over 2.5 goals look incredibly tempting at a pretty meaty 4/6.

However, if you’re feeling rather more adventurous then there is plenty of reason to consider a punt on over 3.5 goals at 8/5.

Each of their last five encounters in all competitions has seen at least four goals scored in the 90 minutes and, with Chelsea shipping two against Southampton on Saturday, over 3.5 strikes looks a bet well worth looking into.

Both teams have also found the net in all bar one of their last 11 meetings and both teams to score this Monday evening is available at 11/20 which, while it’s not the biggest price you’ll ever encounter, could provide a tidy side bet.

Finally, Ramires has scored in each of the last three games he’s played against United and the Brazilian is currently 4/1 to find the net at any time.
