Manchester City have won the most away games in the Premier League this season and the FA Cup betting odds suggest that they will continue their fine form on their travels against Leicester.
Roberto Mancini’s team have triumphed in six of their 11 away games and this has made them 4/6 to win at Championship club Leicester.
Meanwhile, Manchester City have progressed seven times in the ten occasions the pair have clashed in the FA Cup in the past, including in their last meeting in 2004 when they beat Leicester away from home 3-1.
Manchester City also beat Leicester in their sole meeting in the final of the competition in 1969.
Leicester boss Sven-Goran Eriksson will have no problems getting himself up for the game as he would love to put one over on his former club.
The Foxes ended a mini hoodoo when getting through the third round of the FA Cup for the first time in four years last season and they have started 2011 impressively with back-to-back successes.
Leicester’s betting odds are 4/1 to beat Manchester City, with the draw that will take the third-round tie to a replay at Eastlands priced at 11/4.
One of the big mysteries will be the strength of the team selected by Mancini and particularly who he chooses to play in attack.
New signing Edin Dzeko has not signed in time to make his debut, while there are question marks over the fitness of Mario Balotelli.
Carlos Tevez will have to be favoured to score first if he starts at 11/4, but the smarter money may be on Jo if he gets the nod in attack and he is 9/2 to open the scoring.
Leicester’s most prominent threat is likely to be Paul Gallagher and he is 9/1 in the first scorer betting market.
