After a 3-1 defeat in the first leg at the Anoeta, Santander face an uphill task to progress in the Copa del Rey, but they should nevertheless be backed to score when Sociedad come to town.
La Real may be the visitors but they head into this clash as heavy favourites for the win at 8/13, following a run of big victories in the cup and league.
Sociedad hammered Elche 4-0 in the La Liga last weekend in what was the fourth time in five games that a match involving the Basque club has featured four goals or more, making the 19/10 on over 3.5 total goals in this match a tempting prospect.
One of those fixtures was a 2-2 draw against an out-of-form Getafe and with La Real knowing that progression will be assured provided they avoid defeat, odds of 27/10 on the draw is one to watch.
However anyone seeking grounds to back a Racing win at 4/1 should look to their fine home record – albeit against lesser opposition – with the team losing just one of their last 16 competitive games at the Campos de Sport de El Sardinero.
At the very least Santander should be backed to score, with the Segunda B side finding the net in 13 of their last 14 competitive home fixtures.
In four of their last five Racing have also opened the scoring and with the partisan home crowd behind them, the 2/1 on the underdogs scoring the first goal of the game is certainly an option to consider.
However with Sociedad in similarly prolific form on the road, having registered at least a goal in each of their last six away games, backing both teams to score at 4/5 could be among the bets of the night.
In a game where players may be rested ahead of key league fixtures, backing goals galore seems to be the safest route to take.
