Man United striker’s path must lead to Madrid once cleared

It doesn’t matter how furious rumours linking a player with a move away from their club are, sometimes getting an opinion out of any of the parties involved is like trying to solve Rubik’s cube in the dark, using only two fingers.

That’s exactly the situation with Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez, who went to new non-committal lengths at a recent press briefing by claiming only God knew what his future held.

His manager Louis van Gaal has also been quite comfortable sat on the pointy spikes of the fence, claiming that he can’t speak about any moves away for Chicharito because “he’s a player of Manchester United at this moment.”

Despite all this beige chatter, it remains as clear as an idyllic island’s waters that the diminutive goal-getter needs to leave Old Trafford in order to regain regular playing time.

Should he do so, Atletico Madrid must be his destination of choice as Diego Simeone is a known admirer of Hernandez’ talents and could perfectly mesh with the club’s other strikers to form quite a force.

For the Red Devils, Hernandez must battle Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Danny Welbeck for a start, along with potentially converted front-men, Wilfried Zaha and Adnan Januzaj.

Switching to Atletico, who have seen Diego Costa, David Villa and Adrian Lopes all depart the club’s forward line, would give Hernandez the chance to return to his best in a 4-4-2 formation.

Forming a partnership with another new signing, Mario Mandzukic, would surely give Simeone a great chance of retaining the league title he won last term, at 12/1 odds.

Inter Milan are also reportedly chasing the man known as “Little Pea”, while a host of Premier League clubs would be, frankly, stupid not to have the player on their shopping list, but it’s the Madrid side who remain the Mexican’s best fit.
