A sold out Betzenberg is eagerly anticipating the return of golden boy Miroslav Klose when FC Kaiserslautern host Bayern Munich on Friday evening.
The vociferous support of the 48,500 FCK fans that will fill the Betzenberg, also known as the Fritz Walter Stadion, will welcome Miroslav Klose back to the stage where he rose to prominence in the early noughties.
The fantastic support is a stadium trademark and Klose expects an intimidating atmosphere as he searches for his first goal of the season and is 4/1 to score first on Friday night.
“It’ll be an immensely hostile reception. We’ll be playing against twelve men, in the truest sense of the phrase. Even for us, it’ll be a new experience. I’ve been telling the other players about it. I’m assuming the Betze will be seething.”
The game will provide a better insight into FCK’s league credentials after their surprise 3-1 opening day victory over Cologne leaves them second in the table, and Red Devils’ coach Marco Kurz is confident his side can upset the reigning champions.
Kurz has promised his side will be brave and attack Bayern which could leave plenty of opportunities for Bayern to counter and it’s 7/4 for there to be over 3.5 goals, in what could be a very exciting game.
Elsewhere in the Bundesliga, Raul should make his home debut for Schalke and they are 1/3 to beat Hanover.
Werder Bremen will be hoping to put last week’s 4-1 defeat to Hoffenheim behind them as they take on Cologne, and new signing Wesley will be hoping to prove himself as heir to Mezut Ozil’s throne – Bremen are 2/5 to be victorious.
Bayern face a tough encounter in Kaiserslautern and the draw, 3/1, is a distinct possibility. See the full German Bundesliga football betting market here.
