Wolves v Sevilla Betting Tips: Can Jimenez and co progress?

Raul Jimenez Wolves

After seeing Manchester United reach the semi-finals last night, Wolverhampton Wanderers will be hoping to do likewise against Sevilla this evening.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men saw off Olympiakos last week to reach the last-eight, but now play a Sevilla side which has won this competition five times since 2007.

This should be a cracking contest, which will be played over one leg at MSV Duisberg’s home ground in Germany. Can Wolves make it two Premier League sides in the final four? Check out our Wolves v Sevilla betting tips…

Match Odds

Not only do Julen Lopetegui’s side have unrivalled pedigree in this tournament, but they’re in sensational form too, having won six of their last seven games, which in turn is part of a mighty 18-game unbeaten streak.

Wolves have only lost one of their last five, but it’s not enough to convince our traders, who have the La Liga side as 5/4 favourites to win the match and 4/7 to qualify.

That leaves the Premier League outfit at 13/5 to win the game in 90 minutes, while 5/4 says they go through.

Santo will be hoping Raul Jimenez is on form, because Sevilla have conceded just one goal in their last seven games. There’s 1/2 about under 2.5 goals, with 11/5 about the Spaniard’s winning to nil.

Talking Tactics

Wolves only have one notable injury ahead of tonight’s clash, with Jonny out after suffering an ankle injury on Thursday against Olympiakos.

Ruben Vinagre should deputise tonight, with Jimenez leading the line, supported by one of Adama Traore or Diogo Jota. Joao Moutinho, Ruben Neves and Leander Dendoncker will look to dominate the game in midfield.

Nemanja Gudelj and Tomas Vaclik could miss out for Sevilla, with Lopetegui expected to go 4-3-3, with Lucas Ocampos, Youssef En-Nesyri and former Liverpool man Suso up front.

Goalscorer Odds

Our traders make Ocampos 4/1 favourite to score first, while Jimenez is 9/2 to grab his 28th of the season and 11th of the tournament with the opening strike.

Whether he starts or comes on as a sub, Jota has already scored six goals in this season’s Europa League, and the mercurial forward is 7/2 to score anytime.

There’s 11/2 about Traore anytime, while 6/1 says Matt Doherty pops up with a goal during the match.
