Jose Mourinho is already revamping the Manchester United squad with Eric Bailly the first new arrival from Villarreal. But it seems the Red Devils boss could be looking closer to home for his next addition, with odds of Eden Hazard heading to Old Trafford slashed by more than half.
The Belgium winger recently told the media he ‘never wanted’ Mourinho to leave Chelsea, and it’s beginning to look like the former Blues pair could be reunited in the north-west this summer, with odds of Hazard joining the FA Cup holders having tumbled from 20/1 to just 8/1.
That means United are now favourites to lure the 25-year-old away from Stamford Bridge, while it’s 10/1 that he returns to Ligue 1 with PSG, or joins last season’s Champions League winners Real Madrid.
Chelsea fans will at least be relieved to hear that the 2014-15 PFA Players’ Player of the Year winner won’t be offering his services to a London rival, with moves to Arsenal (33/1) and Tottenham (66/1) both effectively ruled out by the bookies.
For the moment, the player’s focus will be on Euro 2016, with Belgium 17/20 favourites to beat Sweden in a crucial Group E clash tonight.
However, another masterful performance like the one Hazard produced against the Republic of Ireland on Saturday could see Mourinho whipping out his credit card to snap up his former wing wizard sooner rather than later.
