QPR v Watford – Hornets no match for Warnock’s league leaders

Neil Warnock has told striker Adel Taarabt he needs to resist the temptation to try too hard to impress in front of the television cameras this Friday night.

The clash is live on BBC 2 and Warnock has told the player – who has scored nine goals for the Hoops this season – he doesn’t want a repeat of his abysmal performance against Bristol City, where the player seemed to be more interested in showing off than helping his team.

QPR are big favourites heading into this game at 8/13 and Warnock is convinced his star player will deliver.

He said: “I just hope Adel doesn’t have another of those games in front of the cameras,” Warnock said. He realises how poor he was that night and I think he’ll be a bit more responsible.

“I’ve already had a word with him about it and he accepts he didn’t play well. I think he’s a better player for us now, more of a team player, which he’s learnt to be over the weeks.”

QPR are yet to lose a game in the Championship this season and it’s hard to see them surrendering that record against Watford. The Hornets’ 3-2 win against Leicester City last weekend – thanks to an 85th minute winner from Danny Graham – was their first in eight games.

Watford have not won in five games on the road and will not break that record against QPR. Backing QPR to win at 8/13 looks to be well worth a bet.

Backing over 2.5 goals is also worth considering. With QPR and Watford the joint top scorers in the league, along with Cardiff City, a high scoring game could certainly be worth putting some cash on at 15/8.

A £10 bet on QPR to win 3-1 pays out £90. New customers can sign up here for a free £10 bet.
