QPR back to odds-on to win Championship after draw

QPR have returned to 5/6 in the Championship betting odds to win the title this season after their fairly uneventful draw at Hull.

With only two Championship games taking place, largely as a result of the FA Cup fourth round, the leaders had a chance to extend their four-point advantage at the head of the table.

This was achieved to a minor level thanks to the goalless draw at Hull, who themselves extended their unbeaten run to five games and remain close enough to mount an assault on the play-off places over the second half of the season.

Meanwhile, QPR will know that winning their home games could be perhaps the most crucial ingredient if they are to win the Championship and they will return to Loftus Road next to face Portsmouth.

QPR’s betting odds to beat Portsmouth are 8/15.

However, Norwich were unable to profit from the two points dropped by QPR as they also drew at Crystal Palace.

The Canaries climbed into the second automatic promotion spot with their 0-0 draw, as the Championship witnessed a Saturday in which no goals were scored.

Norwich’s betting odds also remain at 9/1 to win the Championship, but perhaps the day’s big winners were Cardiff, even though they did not play.

Cardiff now have a game in hand over both teams above them in the table and can close to within three points of QPR with a win.

Dave Jones’ team are 9/2 to finish the season on top of the table and they will be expecting victory at home to Reading next.

Cardiff are 10/11 to beat Reading, with the visitors 5/2 to triumph and the draw priced at 11/5.

A £25 stake on Nottingham Forest winning the Championship would return £175. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
