Millwall v Scunthorpe – Struggling Scunthorpe will be mauled by Lions

Millwall boss Kenny Jackett is confident new striker Josh McQuoid can help ease his side’s lack of ruthlessness in front of goal as they host Scunthorpe.

The Bournemouth forward has been signed on loan with a view to a permanent move in January and looks set to make his first start for the Lions against the Scunthorpe on Saturday.

Millwall are 5/6 favourites to win and Jackett believes that, with McQuoid on board, his side can bounce back from their disappointing goalless draw with bottom of the table Preston.

He said: “We got behind the Preston defence on numerous occasions so to come away with no goals is disappointing.
There were some good saves from their goalkeeper and wayward finishing from ourselves. We didn’t capitalise from the dangerous positions we got into, but for the away side it’s a good point.

“It was a performance full of heart and we have some big hearts in the dressing room and we move on to our home games.”

It’s all gone a bit wrong for Scunthorpe in recent weeks. After starting the season in solid if not spectacular fashion, they have now lost their last four Championship games and are level on points with Crystal Palace who occupy the final relegation spot thanks to their inferior goal difference.

Scunthorpe haven’t drawn an away game since December last year so backing Millwall to come away with all three points at 5/6 looks like the most tempting bet.
