Leeds United aren’t done yet: Traders price move for ex-Man United ace

As is often the case nowadays, Leeds United find themselves at the head of the market for yet another young talent.

And despite news breaking earlier that the Yorkshire outfit were just 3/1 to sign Grimsby Town striker Omar Bogle, we’re now going even shorter on United signing another forward.

Step forward, Ashley Fletcher.

Our traders seem confident that Leeds boss Garry Monk isn’t finished in the transfer window just yet, and they’re now offering just 7/4 for the former Manchester United youth product to move to Elland Road.

Currently at West Ham following an Old Trafford exit last summer, it’s thought Slaven Bilic wants the 21-year-old to go and get game-time having played just 300 minutes of Premier League football for the Hammers this year.

And the odds are suggesting Leeds could be set to add the striker who was apparently tipped to beat Marcus Rashford to the Red Devils’ first-team to their ranks.

So who would fans rather see at Elland Road?

Bogle is a proven goalscorer who has worked his way up the Non-League ladder to get to where he is today. Though he’s yet to play at a higher level than League Two, he’s surpassed expectation every season.

The worry here though is that a move from a mid-table League Two side to a club challenging for promotion to the Premier League may be too much for the forward to deal with.

Fletcher, meanwhile, is still at a stage in his career where he’d be considered as ‘one for the future’.

He spent half of last season on loan at Barnsley in League One where he scored seven goals in 24 outings. Prolific enough to warrant a place at Leeds? Probably not – but there’s no doubting his potential.

Are Leeds in a position to take a gamble on players like Fletcher and Bogle? Surely it’s the here and now which will be a priority to Monk.

In short, both players come with a risk. But who would you choose if you were the boss?
