More loan signings can be expected at Leicester in the coming weeks as Sven-Goran Eriksson looks to assemble a squad that will challenge for promotion to the Premier League.
The former England boss has already brought in Kyle Naughton and Curtis Davies on loan to tighten up a somewhat leaky defence and both played the full 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Hull.
This result was not enough to lift Leicester out of the relegation places in the Championship, but Eriksson can take confidence from the fact that his team created a string of decent chances.
Eriksson is hopeful that further loan signings will help improve the depth of the squad further, although it is unlikely that any dealings will be complete ahead of their next Championship outing, which is away at Leeds.
He said: “We are looking to improve in all areas and hopefully we will take in one or two more. It’s not easy but we are trying very hard.”
Leicester are still to win on the road this season, which is partly due to them having conceded 17 goals in their five away games.
However, the acquisitions of Naughton from Tottenham and Davies from Aston Villa may lead to improvements in this area and they are 2/1 to beat Leeds.
Leicester have already beaten Leeds at Elland Road this season in the second round of the Carling Cup and it is 10/1 for a repeat of this 2-1 victory in the Championship betting odds.
Leeds have been relatively inconsistent at home, with three wins and two defeats from their five games, while they have failed to win any of their last three meetings with Leicester at Elland Road.
Simon Grayson’s team are 11/10 to beat Leicester and potentially move into the play-off places in the Championship.
