Fulham make a move for free agent Adebayor

Having sold Ross McCormack and Moussa Dembele this summer, Fulham might find themselves a  little light up top this season, but that’s all set to change if the Cottagers land Emmanuel  Adebayor.

The West Londoners are reportedly in the process of signing the former Arsenal, Tottenham and Crystal Palace man on a free transfer.

Togo international Adebayor has been without a club since leaving the Eagles in the summer, for whom he netted once in seven appearances.

At 32 there should still be plenty of life left in the enigmatic forward yet, and he could prove to be a smart addition at Craven Cottage, with a deal priced at Evens.

Fulham have flown out of the blocks this season under Slavisa Jokanovic, winning three and drawing two of their opening five Championship games.

It’s even more impressive when you consider the number of stars who have left the club this summer, including Martin Stekelenburg and the aforementioned McCormack and Dembele.

The only concern over a deal for Adebayor may be his wage demands, but if an agreement is reached, his arrival could see Fulham’s 22/1 title odds quickly shorten.

Adebayor might even feature this Saturday if a move is sorted today, with Fulham Evens to win at home to Birmingham.
