Cardiff City have added yet more attacking flair to their side with the arrival of Arsenal youngster Jay Emmanuel-Thomas.
Cardiff are currently 5/1 in the Championship betting to win the title, despite a poor run of form over recent months. Dave Jones’ side have won just three of their last 12 league games but are clinging on to third place in the Championship table.
The Bluebirds are hardly short of attacking options with the likes of Craig Bellamy, Jay Bothroyd, Michael Chopra, Peter Whittingham and Chris Burke to call upon.
Despite all their attacking talent, Cardiff only have the 12th best home attack in the league – a record they will need to improve on if they are to seriously challenge for the title.
However, despite their dreadful run of form, Cardiff are only five points adrift of leaders QPR and are still well in the hunt for the top spot – even more so with the addition of Emmanuel-Thomas to the squad.
Jones said: “He’s a big lad, he’s quick and has had great grounding at Arsenal.
“This is probably his next stage of development for him. He can play down the middle and wide – so we’ll give him an opportunity to see what is got.”
Cardiff are also rumoured to be in advanced talks with Blackpool defender Dekel Keinan.
The Israeli international hasn’t been able to break into the Seasiders first-team and look set to end the season with Cardiff – another big signing that means the Bluebirds could be worth a bet to claim top spot.
