Aston Villa and Brentford both have promotion in their sights this season. They’ve got a chance to lay a marker down when they meet at Villa Park tonight.
The two sides have both picked up seven points from their opening three league games. Neither of them have lost yet. Is that about to change? Here are our tips for the action…
Villa are 7/5 favourites here, but Brentford haven’t lost any of the four games between the two sides over the last two seasons.
Steve Bruce’s side found it hard to break down Ipswich Town in their last outing. The hosts will have more space to work with here against adventurous opposition. But they’ll need to make sure they don’t leave themselves exposed at the back.
Brentford have looked very tidy going forward. They’ve hit 12 goals in their four games so far. They could have had more if they’d been more clinical though.
Brentford’s Neal Maupay narrowly leads the Anytime scorer market at 8/5. After opening his account for the campaign last weekend, Villa’s Jonathan Kodjia is just behind at 13/8. They’re both 9/2 to open the scoring.
