Just six points separate Cardiff City and Nottingham Forest in the Championship table and both will be desperate for three points to give their promotion chances a much-needed boost. Can we expect another Championship plot twist tonight?
A home victory would bring the Bluebirds back into play-off contention with 11 games remaining, whereas Forest will be targeting an automatic promotion spot with a win.
The action gets underway at 7:45pm on Sky Sports Football and we’ve got all the pre-match odds and info right here…
Cardiff go into this match as 7/5 favourites at the Cardiff City Stadium despite lying five places behind Forest in tenth.
The Bluebirds have won nine of the last ten matches against Forest, but Cardiff have drawn 14 matches this season, the most in the Championship, including seven of their last eight home games. Forest have drawn four of their last nine and a draw is at 21/10.
The Reds have won only one of their last 11 away league visits to Cardiff a 2-0 victory back in November 2010. Forest are 2/1 to bring a three-match winless streak to an end.
Both sides are likely to continue with their 4-3-3 formations, but both have injury concerns.
This one could be tight and it could revolve around the creativity in midfield when it comes to unlocking defences. Marlon Pack and Will Vaulks will be pivotal at both ends of the pitch, expected to break up play and kick-start attacks.
For Forest, Joe Lolley will provide a threat from wide positions. The attacking midfielder is the visitor’s most potent shot-taker and he’s managed at least three efforts in seven of his last nine games.
Lewis Grabban is always a goal threat and with 16 goals for Forest this season he will be a marked man. The striker has gone five games without a goal but is 7/4 to end his drought with a goal anytime.
