Liverpool’s dramatic win at West Brom means they remain in pole position to claim one of the two remaining Champions League spots ahead of their trip to Burnley where 3,500 fans will be present for the first time in 14 months.

Goalkeeper Alisson headed in a stoppage-time winner from a corner to keep the pressure on Leicester and Chelsea.

The Reds are 1/4 to win at Turf Moor, the same price as it is for them to secure a Champions League spot, so let’s look at some of the other markets for our Burnley v Liverpool betting tips.

Match Odds

Liverpool may be heavy favourites to beat Burnley but they have failed to win either of their last two meetings.

Ashley Barnes’ 83rd-minute penalty secured a 1-0 win at Anfield in January and the Clarets are 10/1 to complete the double, 11/2 to draw as they did on Merseyside last season or 3/1 in the double chance market.

That said, Sean Dyche’s side have lost the last three clashes with the Reds at Turf Moor where they were battered 4-0 by Leeds at the weekend.

Liverpool won two of those games with three or fewer match goals and a repeat is available at 31/20.

They are unbeaten in their last eight but have conceded in five of their previous six outings, so we go 11/8 on the visitors to win and both teams to score against a Burnley side that had found the net in nine successive games before they were blanked by Leeds.

Talking Tactics

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is likely to resist the temptation to play Alisson up front but midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum is knocking on the door for a starting role in a 4-3-3 formation after replacing Curtis Jones on the hour mark against the Baggies.

Dyche could make changes after Saturday’s heavy defeat, so Jay Rodriguez and Ashley Barnes may take one or both of the forward roles in a 4-4-2 system favoured by the manager.

Goalscorer Odds

Mohamed Salah is involved in a mighty battle with Harry Kane for the Premier League’s Golden Boot and is 11/5 to get the first goal and just 1/2 to get on the scoresheet.

Salah has struggled against Burnley in the past so it may pay dividends to look elsewhere like Roberto Firmino or Sadio Mane, who have scored freely against the Clarets in the last few seasons, and they are 5/1 and 4/1 respectively to break the deadlock or 13/8 or 13/10 to find the net.

Barnes and Rodriguez are both 14/1 to get the ball rolling or 9/2 in the anytime scorer market, although Chris Wood is the 21/10 favourite to strike and 13/2 to bag the opener.
