Bolivia v Argentina betting tips: Messi and co eye top spot in Group A

Argentina have already booked their place in the knockout stages of the 2021 Copa America but hope to maintain their unbeaten start to the tournament.

Lionel Scaloni’s side have picked up seven points from their three matches and victory in their final round-robin match against already-eliminated Bolivia would see them finish as Group A winners.

La Albiceleste are 2/15 to make it three wins out of four, but let’s examine some of the other markets and odds to help with our Bolivia v Argentina betting tips.

Match Odds

Argentina go into the final group match as heavy favourites having had a fruitful yet uninspiring tournament.

Despite possessing the attacking talents of captain Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero, Papu Gomez and Angel Di Maria, La Albiceleste have only scored three goals, one apiece, in the competition.

They are 4/1 to score exactly one goal against Bolivia, although they do have a terrific record against this opponent.

They have won five of the last six meetings, scoring 19 goals and conceding just three. Two of those came in a 2-0 World Cup qualifying defeat in 2017, and Bolivia are priced at 20/1 for a shock win in the final group game.

That is an average of over three goals per game for Argentina, who have won four of those matches by at least a two-goal margin, valued at 2/5, with three of those victories coming by three goals or more (-2 handicap) priced at 21/10.

Bolivia have yet to pick up a point in the competition and are 7/1 to share the spoils.

Seven of Argentina’s last 10 fixtures have conjured up just two goals or fewer, while three of Bolivia’s previous four games have also followed that trend and it is 31/20 for under 2.5 match goals.

Talking Tactics

Argentina have strong squad depth with Inter striker Lautaro Martinez on the bench in the last match against Paraguay, while Paris St Germain’s Leandro Paredes marshals the midfield.

Despite the talent in their team, Argentina have had less possession than their opponents in each of their group-stage matches, although that could change against Bolivia.

Goalscorer Odds

Messi is the obvious contender in the goalscorer market and is 2/1 favourite to score the opener and 8/15 to net at any time.

There is also a Price Boost for the Barcelona captain to score in both halves in Cuiaba, which can be backed at 5/1.

Argentina team-mates Martinez and Aguero are next on the list at 14/5 to grab the first goal, while they are 4/5 and 5/6 to score during the match.

Erwin Saavedra has scored Bolivia’s only goal of the tournament and the midfielder is 33/1 to break the deadlock or 11/1 to find the net, while their best hopes lie with Marcelo Moreno priced at 14/1 and 9/2 in the first and anytime goalscorer markets.
