Aston Villa v Everton betting tips and odds

The most played fixture in English football is Saturday’s tea-time clash between Aston Villa and Everton who have made a great start under new manager Rafael Benitez.

The unbeaten Merseysiders fought back from a goal down to beat Burnley 3-1 on Monday night to move into fourth place and are 2/1 to win at Villa Park this weekend.

The hosts have won just once this season but remain unbeaten at home as we’re looking at the markets and odds in our Aston Villa v Everton betting tips.

Match Odds

Everton have won three and drawn one of their four games, with all their victories coming by two-goal margins which can be backed at 17/2, while 2-0 and 3-1 wins for the Toffees are available at 14/1 and 25/1.

The Blues won from behind in two of those victories – both at home – and that option is priced at 14/1 as one of Saturday’s Aston Villa v Everton betting tips.

However, Villa took four points off Everton last season, drawing 0-0 at Villa Park and winning 2-1 at Goodison, so we go 23/10 on a draw and 11/8 on a home win.

Villa are still adapting to life without Jack Grealish, but the likes of Danny Ings, Emi Buendia and Leon Bailey should prove to be excellent acquisitions.

Encounters between these teams have been fairly even recently with the last eight matches producing three wins apiece, so we go 13/8 on both teams to score, over 2.5 goals and either team to win.

In another of our #GetAPrice specials, a goal in each half and the match to end in a draw is priced at 5/1, although that outcome last occurred eight years ago.

Talking Tactics

Despite the 3-0 scoreline, Villa missed several first-half opportunities at Stamford Bridge where they had four shots on target after going a goal down but found keeper Edouard Mendy impossible to beat.

Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez and Buendia missed the game because of international commitments with Argentina which resulted in them training in Croatia instead of returning to the UK to avoid quarantine rules, but both players should be available.

Benitez will be without injured striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin for “two to three weeks” so Richarlison is expected to spearhead the attack again, supported by goalscoring wingers Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray.

Goalscorer Odds

Ings is 7/2 favourite to get the ball rolling and 15/8 to score any time, while Richarlison is 9/2 and 15/8 in the same markets.

Townsend scored a wonder goal against Burnley on Monday and is 9/1 to bag the opener and 7/2 to net any time as one of our Aston Villa v Everton betting tips.

Gray scored his third successive goal as the Blues scored three times in six minutes against Burnley and the winger can be backed at 6/1 and 23/10 in the same markets.
