BK Hacken v Aberdeen betting tips and odds

New-look Aberdeen have one foot in the third qualifying round of the inaugural Europa Conference League after a convincing 5-1 victory over BK Hacken in front of their returning fans in the first leg.

The Scottish Premiership side head to Sweden as 9/5 underdogs to win the return although they can afford to take it easy with the tie virtually in the bag.

However, the Dons will want a confidence-boosting result ahead of the Scottish Premiership campaign which gets under way against Dundee United this weekend so let’s look at some of the markets and odds in our BK Hacken v Aberdeen betting tips.

Match Odds

The Dons are back in Gothenburg, the scene of their 1983 European Cup Winners’ final triumph against Real Madrid, and they should return to Scotland with more fond memories after dominating the opening leg.

Lewis Ferguson scored twice and hit the post in his first match playing alongside former Celtic skipper Scott Brown in midfield, with Andy Considine, Christian Ramirez and substitute Connor McLennan also on target.

Head coach Stephen Glass said: “The players get the reward for the work they have put in for the past five weeks.”

Aberdeen are 4/1 to win and concede once more or 5/1 to win by at least two goals but we suspect Hacken may prove more competitive having previously been in form under former Rosenborg and Norway boss Per-Mathias Hogmo, who replaced Andreas Alm during the summer break when they were bottom of the table.

Hogmo said: “We were on our way back into the game at 3-1 but you can’t win games when you give away goals like we did. We will hopefully have three or four players back and that will hopefully make us stronger.”

They have won four and drawn two of their last six games in the Swedish top flight and are 6/5 to win the second leg or 11/5 to draw.

Aberdeen struggled to score last season and it is unlikely there will be a similar number of goals so we go 29/10 on a win for the visitors and under 3.5 while the hosts are 5/6 to score the opener bearing in mind they will have a stronger team and are likely to be on the front foot from the get-go.

Talking Tactics

Both teams went with a 4-3-3 at Pittodrie where USA striker Ramirez was the focal point for the Dons attack flanked by Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Ryan Hedges, with Brown, Ferguson and Funso Ojo in midfield.

Alexander Jeremejeff, back for a third spell with Hacken, has been their star player this season, scoring seven times in 12 appearances, including his side’s only against Aberdeen and in Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Elfsborg, so he will be one to watch.

Goalscorer Odds

Ramirez has looked sharp since signing for the Dons and is 11/2 to break the deadlock or 11/5 to get on the scoresheet while we go 4/1 on the USA striker scoring in a Dons victory.

Ferguson is 13/2 to get the game’s first goal and 5/2 to net any time while Considine is 33/1 to draw first blood once more in the BK Hacken v Aberdeen betting tips.

For the Danes, Jeremejeff is 4/1 and 13/8 in both markets while it’s 13/2 and 12/5 on Ali Youssef.
