Saturday and Sunday: What Esports games are on?

Published:

Esports has got your back this weekend with another blockbuster round of contests, starting on Saturday.

There’s more from the FIFA Ultimate QuaranTeam tournament, while more mythical clashes await in the League of Legends, and we’ve got another round of rip-roaring action over in the Counter-Strike corner.

FIFA ULTIMATE QUARANTEAM

We’re getting to the business end of the inaugural FIFA Ultimate QuaranTeam tournament, which continues throughout the weekend.

Middlesbrough are among the favourites to go all the way, and they’re 8/11 favourites to defeat Australian side Central Coast Mariners on Saturday morning.

The competition’s founders Leyton Orient fell at the first hurdle, but some heavyweight names remain. Head to our sportsbook for the latest fixtures and odds.

LEAGUE OF LEGENDS

Fans of the League of Legends contests won’t know where to turn this weekend, with at least six regional leagues going ahead.

They include a heap of clashes from European Championship, plus the Legends Championship in Korea, the Legends Pro League, the Oceanic Pro League and both the Vietnam and Pacific Championship Series.

COUNTER-STRIKE: GLOBAL OFFENSIVE

It’s a big weekend in the Counter-Strike ESL ESEA Pro League, with Group 3 continuing their clashes all weekend.

Saturday sees G2 Esports (1/10) take on Tyloo (6/1), Mousesports (8/11) meet FaZe Clan (Evens) before Team Liquid (2/5) battle 100 Thieves (7/4).

On Sunday, Mousesports (1/7) fight OG (9/2), G2 Esports (8/13) play FaZe Clan (6/5) and Team Liquid (2/9) meet FURIA eSports (3/1).

There’s more Counter-Strike action too on Sunday, with matches from the Flashpoint series.

ROCKET LEAGUE

The fast and furious Rocket League continues on Saturday night, with a pair of contests in the North American Rocket League Championship.

Susquehanna Soniqs are 13/8 outsiders to beat 4/9 favourites NRG Esports, before Cloud 9 (8/15) take on Ghost Gaming (11/8).

EBOXING

It’s the second semi-final of eWBSS’ Heavyweight Legends tournament on Saturday, and it’s a proper fight for the ages.

eMike Tyson takes on eGeorge Foreman for a place in the final. The two were arguably the biggest punchers the heavyweight division has ever seen, and it’s eIron Mike who is given 1/5 favouritism for this one.

Foreman is the 7/2 outsider, and he’s really up against it with Tyson also odds-on at 2/7 to win by KO, TKO or DQ. The winner will take on the victor between eMuhammad Ali v eJoe Frazier on Sunday.

Other bits to look out for

Motorsports fans can enjoy another jam-packed weekend, with round three of The Race All-Stars Esports battle. Featured entrants include Nelson Piquet Jr, Alex Rossi, Youtuber Archie Hamilton and the world’s fastest gamer, James Baldwin.

That’s joined by an all new event this weekend, The Race All-Star Battle Legends Trophy, featuring a pack of motor racing greats including Dario Franchitti, Juan Pablo Montoya, Johnny Herbert and Emerson Fittipaldi.

And we’ve got the first Indycar iRacing challenge on Saturday night, featuring a number of current Indycar drivers.
