PDC Home Tour Betting Tips: Whitlock heads up Group 11

After more thrills and spills on the oche over the weekend,the PDC Home Tour continues tonight with Group 11.
And unusually, this evenings quartet features not one, buttwo PDC World Championship finalists in Simon Whitlock and 2008’s surprise runner-upKirk Shephard.
The duo are joined by the handy Alan Tabern and Dutchman Mike van Duivenbode. This should be a competitive line-up, with Whitlock 7/4 favourite to top the group, ahead of 3/1 shots Tabern and Shephard.
Simon Whitlockv Mike van Duivenbode (19:30)
The Wizardtakes on The Pigeon (we do love Darts) in the opener, as Whitlock meets Dutchyoungster Van Duivenbode.
Our traders give world number 14 Whitlock favouritism for this one at 2/5, although his 21-year-old opponent shouldn’t be discounted at 9/5, as we’ve seen plenty of upsets in the tournament already.
But shouldthis one go to the formbook, there’s 3/1 about Whitlock to be King of theOche, and 4/5 for the Aussie to throw the most maximums.
Simon Whitlockv Kirk Shephard (21:00)
WhileWhitlock made the BDO final in 2008, Shephard reached the PDC equivalent in thesame year. But the career parallels ended at that point.
The Wizardis 1/3 to win his second match of the night, with33-year-old Shephard the 9/4 outsider.
Whitlockcould be in the groove by this point, if he gets off to a good start versus VanDuivenbode, and there’s 11/10 about the Aussie on the -2.5 leg handicap,while he’s 2/1 to be King of the Oche.
Simon Whitlockv Alan Tabern (22:00)
The Wizard’s toughest contest could come in hisfinal match, versus Alan Tabern.
Our traders have again chalked up Whitlock odds-on at 2/5, with 53-year-old Tabern at 9/5.
But the St Helens thrower has defeated Whitlockthrice before, as recently as two years ago at the Players Championship in Barnley,so this could be the match of the night.
There’s 6/5 about over 3.5 180s in this one, with 6/1 saying Whitlock edges it 5-4.
