PDC Home Tour Betting Tips: Is Henderson facing an upset in Group 29?

Three more lucky losers will get the chance to earn a reprieve in the Home Tour tonight as the first round of the PDC’s innovative competition edges towards its conclusion.

John Henderson, Ryan Meikle and Danny Noppert form the trio making their second appearance in the tournament, while Cristo Reyes is the only debutant this evening.

Can the Spaniard make it through at the first time of asking? Or will one of the three returning players take their opportunity in the last chance saloon?

John Henderson v Cristo Reyes (20:00)

It’s a clash of the giants to kick things off tonight, with Henderson chalked up as the 8/13 favourite to take the spoils against 6/5 for Reyes.

The Highlander won two matches in Group 17 earlier this month, but the quality of those encounters is open to interpretation, with the Scotsman failing to get above a 35% checkout rate in any of his three clashes.

And while that may suggest it’s advantage Reyes here, there’s no disputing Henderson’s scoring power. He hit seven maximums on his last Home Tour appearance and is Evens to outscore Reyes on the trebles here.

John Henderson v Ryan Meikle (21:30)

This is another one Henderson is favourite for and another one where we think he could come unstuck. The Aberdeen arrowsmith is odds-on to claim two points at 8/15, with Meikle back at 11/8.

While Hendo posted consistently low checkout percentages in Group 17, Meikle fared slightly better in Group 7 by hitting 67% and 45% on his doubles in two of his three matches.

The Englishman also posted slightly better averages than Henderson, which makes the 4/1 about Meikle to win and his opponent to hit the most 180s in the contest an interesting prospect.

Cristo Reyes v Danny Noppert (22:00)

The final match of the evening sees 6/5 shot Reyes take on 8/13 poke Noppert. The Dutchman has won all three of their previous meetings, and that might prove to be significant in what could be the group decider.

Like Henderson, Noppert’s finishing will also need some improvement from his first Home Tour appearance last week. The 29-year-old hit 55%, 11% and 20% of his doubles across his three matches.

That makes Reyes an interesting outsider for the match, and with Noppert only hitting a single maximum in Group 22, we go 13/8 for Reyes to hit the Most 180s in this one.
