PDC Home Tour Betting Tips: Can Dobey prevail in Group 14?

Published:
Chris Dobey

We’re approachingthe halfway point in round one of the PDC Home Tour, with four more names setto battle it out on the socially distant oche this evening.

Chris Dobey is the odds-on favourite to top Group 14 at 10/11, followed by Kai Fan Leung at 3/1, Ron Meulenkamp at 3/1 and outsider Ciaran Teehan, who can be backed at 8s.

They’ll alltake each other on in a round-robin format, and we’ve previewed three of thematches below.

Ron Meulenkamp v Kai Fan Leung (20:00

The rankings point towards a comfortable win for Meulenkamp tonight. But Leung has impressed since winning his PDC Tour Card and shares favouritism with the Dutchman in this one at 5/6.

Naturally, that points towards a close encounter. And with plenty of higher ranked playersbowing out of the Home Tour already, there’s 6/1 about the Hong Kongese mancausing a minor upset in a 5-4 success.

Chris Dobeyv Ron Meulenkamp (21:00)

Dobey is odds-on to win all his matches tonight as well as the group. This looks like his trickiest test, though, with our traders coming down on the side of the Geordie at odds of 2/5 versus 9/5 for Meulenkamp.

It’s nothard to see why either. Hollywood has been in good nick over the last 18 monthsor so and has the game to beat any of the world’s top players on his day. He’s 5/6on the -1.5 Leg Handicap here.

There’s every chance he could dominate the 180 market too. Dobey has hit 97 maximums in the last year compared to 25 for Meulenkamp. We’re 6/5 for the Newcastle-born star to hit the Most 180s this evening.

Kai FanLeung v Chris Dobey (22:00)

These twoare favourite and second-favourite in the group betting, so there’s a strongpossibility this could end up being a decider. At 1/2 this is Dobey’slongest price of the night, too, while Leung is a 3/2 shot.

That should lend itself to another tight game, with Over 7.5 Legs available at 4/5.
