England vs Pakistan – Broad unlikely England hero

England may be able to salvage a disastrous day thanks to patient innings from Jonathan Trott and a brilliant supporting act from Stuart Broad.

Trott is well on his way to becoming England’s top batsman of the series, he batted to an impressive 77 whilst he watched the rest of the top order fall by the wayside.

Mohammad Amir thought he did the damage before lunch, removing Alastair Cook on the third ball of the morning and removing Kevin Pietersen, Paul Collingwood, Eoin Morgan and Graeme Swann for ducks.

Matt Prior, England’s other top batsman this series, offered small resistance on his way to 22 but Stuart Broad has been superb in salvaging what could’ve been a disastrous innings as England look to win the Test series.

At 97 for five at lunch, England looked dead and buried and Pakistan were 13/8 favourites, but thanks to Trott and Broad’s partnership, England are now 6/5 to win the test with Pakistan out to 4/1.

Broad will have his eye on the man of the match trophy if he can back up his batting display with a bowling display to match that of Amir’s who has taken six for 58 off 19 overs.

Currently, Broad is on 62 and is 13/8 to continue on and make a hundred.

Broad and Trott have given England a fighting hope in this test match. You can view the England vs Pakistan fourth Test betting market here.
