Brighton v Manchester City betting tips: Lucky 13 for City?
Premier League champions Manchester City travel to Brighton after a madcap 4-3 victory at Newcastle on Friday night after which Pep Guardiola admitted the release of tension and the excitement of winning the title had been a distraction.
City are likely to be calmer for the game at a fan-filled Amex Stadium as they start as 1/2 favourites to win their 13th successive away game in the Premier League.
The Seagulls have produced some good results at home lately but let’s see how they fare in our Brighton v Manchester City betting tips.
City have won all seven matches by an aggregate of 21-2 since Brighton were promoted to the Premier League four years ago and they have triumphed in the last three without conceding.
“It definitely feels like two points dropped. We have probably dropped the most points from winning positions in the league. That’s got to change if we want to kick on as a club – it’s frustrating and it’s happened too often this season."#BHAFC 🔵⚪

Brighton’s defence is pretty strong, though, and they drew 0-0 with Chelsea and Everton recently which they followed with a 2-0 win against Leeds, so City to win and under 2.5 goals can be backed at bigger odds of 3/1 while a draw is 13/4.
Interestingly, City have been drawing at the break in four of their last five away games and the Seagulls were only a minute away from holding Guardiola’s side at the break in mid-January so with that in mind, Draw HT/Manchester City FT is available at 3/1.
Brighton defender Lewis Dunk completes a two-match ban for his red card against Wolves, but striker Neal Maupay will not play again this season following his dismissal after the final whistle in the same game.
Guardiola made a raft of changes for the game at St James’ Park, bringing in 35-year-old loan goalkeeper Scott Carson for his debut and a first Premier League appearance in almost 10 years.
Ederson is likely to return for the trip to the south coast but Spanish striker Ferran Torres could keep his place following his hat-trick heroics in the north east.
Raheem Sterling scored a hat-trick in this fixture last season and is 9/2 to open the scoring, 9/5 to net any time, 11/1 to get at least a double or it’s 80/1 for another treble.
Bernardo Silva scored home and away last season and is 9/2 to get on the scoresheet or 12/1 to break the deadlock.
For the hosts, Danny Welbeck is the 15/2 favourite to grab the opening goal or 14/5 to get on the scoresheet.
