63 points v Boston Celtics

April 1986

Larry Bird and the 1986 Boston Celtics were arguably thegreatest team in NBA history. But that didn’t bother a young Michael Jordan.

The Chicago Bulls may have lost to the eventual NBAchampions, but Jordan dropped a huge 63 points and set the NBA record for mostpoints in a playoff game. That record  remains to this day!

Jordan over Ehlo

May 1989

There’s two seconds left on the clock – who do you want tohave the game-winning shot? Michael Jordan of course.

It’s Game 5 of a first-round series with Cleveland Cavaliersand Jordan takes a pass from Brad Sellers and glides past the Cavs Craig Ehlo toshoot the winner in a 101-100 victory.

But it was the emotion of the moment  that mean this moment has gone down in NBAfolklore. While Ehlo crashed to the ground, Jordan leapt into the air with acombination of relief and joy overcoming the Bulls’ star man.

1991 First title

June 1991

This was the moment that ensured Jordan would join the NBAHall of Fame. Aged 28, MJ won his first NBA Finals title against the infamousLA Lakers in 1991.

For many Jordan was already the greatest player in theleague but he didn’t have the titles to show for it like Larry Bird and MagicJohnson.

But after a 108-101 victory in Game 5, Jordan broke intotears when he finally got his hands on the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

This was the start of a dynasty.

Jordan was suffering from flu-like symptoms in the run up to the Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals but still produced a match-winning performance.

His 38 points led the Bulls to a series-turning win against Utah. But it’s perhaps the image of his collapse into team-mate Scottie Pippen’s arms in the final seconds that marks this out as a defining moment.

The Final shot

June 1998

You could really call this The Last Dance for Jordan and theBull’s era of domination.
