The race for no.10: Johnson and Gove 5/1 for next Prime Minister

Published:
Boris Johnson

Boris Johnson and Michael Gove share favouritism in the next Prime Minister market.

The former Foreign Secretary and current Environment Secretary find themselves chalked up at 5/1 apiece with the firm to succeed Theresa May as PM.

Or there’s a 6/1 chance that Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour party are next in to No.10 Downing Street.

Dominic Raab has been popular with punters over the last few days, seeing his odds shorten up into 8/1, a price which is also shared with Jeremy Hunt (8/1).

Sajid Javid is rated as a 12/1 shot, followed by David Lidington (16/1), Andrea Leadsom (20/1) and Matt Hancock (20/1).

It’s a shade of odds-on at 10/11 that a General Election takes place in 2019, with May (3/1) the favoured month of choice should the nation head to the polling stations.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Punters are finding it tough to call between Johnson and Gove, however, away from the favourites, the bookies can report that money continues to pour in for Raab and Hancock.”
