Grand National: Tiger Roll could be shortest price winner in 100 years

Punters are backing the hind legs off Tiger Roll for the 2019 Grand National and he could now become the shortest price National winner in exactly 100 years.
Savvy bettors have latched onto the form of the Gordon Elliott-trained stayer, who won the 2018 Grand National in between two successes in the Cross Country chase at Cheltenham.
He’s now 4/1 for the 2019 Grand National – making him the shortest-price favourite we’ve ever seen at this stage for the race.
Those odds are only likely to come in further, with suggestions that he could be the shortest price winner of the Aintree showpiece since 11/4 shot Poethlyn in 1919.
Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “After winning the Grand National last year, Tiger Roll was installed at 16/1 to do the double. He was cut to 12/1 after winning the Ladbrokes Boyne Hurdle and then 6/1 after the Cross Country.”
“Today he was still being backed at 5/1 so we’ve had to take action and slash his price further to 4/1. No price seems too short for what could be the shortest-priced favourite in Grand National history”, McGeady continued.
