Everton v Arsenal tips: Will Arsenal come unstuck at Goodison?

Published:

Sunday’s sole Premier League tie comes from Goodison Park as Everton host Arsenal.

The Toffees have been inconsistent all season but do boast wins over Chelsea and West Ham United in recent weeks.

Can they defeat a third London club on the bounce? Arsenal’s dodgy away record suggests this could be a close encounter.

So stick around as we preview all the odds and tips ahead of the crucial tie.

Match Odds

Arsenal’s home and away form has been chalk and cheese this season. They’ve won the last ten games at the Emirates Stadium, but have only managed two victories in their last ten away fixtures.

This will give Everton some encouragement with the home side at 19/10 to bag the points. The home side are 7/1 to win with Over 3.5 Goals in the game.

But the Blues have only won one of their last nine games in all competitions against Arsenal.

The Gunners are 13/10 for victory with a draw at 5/2. Unai Emery’s men are 2/5 on the Double chance.

Talking Tactics

Emery will be desperate for Aaron Ramsey to recover from a grain strain, especially with Granit Xhaka fighting to be fit from his own injury lay-off.

This could see the Welshman line-up alongside Matteo Guendouzi in the middle again.

Alexandre Lacazette should retain his spot in attack, but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Everton’s line-up has changed drastically since their last win over Arsenal in December 2016. Marco Silva could give Theo Walcott a start against his former side, but may elect to keep with Bernard and Richarlison out wide.

Whether Kurt Zouma and Michael Keane can keep Lacazette quiet could well be key to an Everton win here.

Goalscorer odds

Richarlison to outscore Arsenal is 8/1 and to score and assist in the game is 20/1.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been impressive in leading the line for Everton this season and is 6/1 to open the scoring this afternoon.

Aubameyang is a short as 13/10 to hit the onion bag, with strike partner Lacazette at 7/4 to fire home.

If Ramsey does play his part, then he’s 4/1 to score for a second-successive game.

Walcott’s pace could become crucial in this one and he’ll be keen to get one over his former employers. The 30-year-old is 11/2 to net anytime.
