On the edge of your seat yet? We are. Liverpool’s victory over Fulham means Jurgen Klopp’s men hold a two-point lead at the top of the Premier League heading into the final few weeks of the season.

The Reds (2/1) and Manchester City (4/11) will slug it out until the death. But what are the key games that could decide the destination of the title? And when are they?

We’ve looked down the fixture list and picked out five season-defining matches.

Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur – Sunday 31st March

Jurgen Klopp’s men face Huddersfield Town, Cardiff City and Southampton in the run-in. You wouldn’t be surprised if they took maximum points from those fixtures to retain their lead at the top.

So it’s the visit of Spurs in late-March which could be their next real test. Mauricio Pochettino’s men have taken points from two of their last three Premier League matches at Anfield.

They should have Dele Alli and Eric Dier back by then too. What happens on Merseyside in just over a month’s time could go a long way to deciding where the title ends up.

Liverpool v Chelsea – Sunday 14th April

Remember the last time Liverpool welcomed Chelsea to Anfield during a title run-in? The Reds slipped up with a 0-2 defeat and the rest – as they say – is history.

Mohamed Salah and co. will be hoping history doesn’t repeat itself this time around.

The Egyptian star was in the starting XI for the visitors that afternoon – only Simon Mignolet and Daniel Sturridge remain for the Reds.

Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur – Sunday 20th April

The Cityzens have been steamrolling their way back towards Liverpool since their late-January defeat to Newcastle United. It’s difficult to see them dropping points for the foreseeable future.

It’s Fulham up next, while they’ve got Brighton and Crystal Palace as likely bankers too . That leaves the Easter Weekend visit from Tottenham as the one which is likeliest to scupper their chances.

Spurs have lost their last three matches against Man City. But they have taken points from two of their last three matches at the Etihad Stadium, which could make this one more difficult.

Manchester United v Manchester City – Wednesday 24th April

Things don’t get any easier for City after their Tottenham test. Pep Guardiola’s men will visit Old Trafford three days later with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men desperate to have a say on the title race.

The Red Devils won’t only be motivated by cross-city rival. They could still be in the top-four race. United are 5/4 second-favourites to claim a much-sought after Champions League spot.

This match could have echoes of the clash in 2012 too. Vincent Kompany headed home the winner when the sides met under the lights seven years ago to put City on the way to a first Prem title.

Liverpool v Wolverhampton Wanderers – Sunday 12th May

There’s no guarantee the title fight will go down to the final day, but if it does, then this clash could be crucial. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men aren’t in the habit of losing to top-six sides.

Wolves have taken points off Chelsea, Man City, Man United and Arsenal this season. They’ve already beaten Liverpool in the FA Cup too.

If the Premier League title race does go down to the last day, then boyhood Reds fan and current Wanderers captain Conor Coady could make things more than a little nervy for the Anfield faithful.
