Arsenal now 4/9 for top-four finish after Newcastle win

Arsenal are now above Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Chelsea in the top-four betting.

The Gunners beat Newcastle United 2-0 last night to move two points clear of Spurs and United, with Chelsea one point further back.

Top-four odds

And it’s seen our traders place Unai Emery’s men at 4/9 to secure a spot in the top-four this season.

They’re now ahead of Spurs, with Mauricio Pochettino’s men second in the market at 8/13.

United can return to the Champions League spots if they beat Wolves this evening, but for now, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are a 5/4 shot.

That leaves Chelsea at the back of the quartet at 15/8.

The key fixtures

With seven games to go, Arsenal fans might be getting quietly confident about their top four prospects.

On paper, the Emirates outfit have a generous run in. They have no more games against the so-called big six.

However, five of those final seven games are away from home. Arsenal could yet trip up away at Everton, Watford, Wolves or Leicester City.

Spurs have the opposite issue, whereby five of their final seven are at their new stadium. Of their two remaining away fixtures, however, one of them is a trip to Manchester City.

United must also play Pep Guardiola’s side this month. They host the Cityzens just four days before another potentially massive game at home to Chelsea.

The Blues have arguably the worst run in of the four sides. Not only do they still have to visit Old Trafford, they must also visit Anfield before April is over.

What next?

Arsenal did their part on Monday night. Now they must sit back and see if the chasing trio can respond.

United have already lost away at Wolves in 2019, but are 19/20 to avenge their FA Cup defeat with victory tonight.

Chelsea will fancy themselves to beat Brighton tomorrow at 2/7, while Spurs will look to crown their stadium debut with a win at 4/9 versus Crystal Palace.
