Rerun the Referendum? Odds slashed on second EU vote this year

Theresa May

Our traders have cut the odds of a second EU referendum taking place this year.

With plenty of uncertainty in parliament after John Bercow’s recent intervention, it’s now just 9/4 that the country goes to the polls again to vote on our EU membership.

It’s not a given that remain would win a second referendum though. We make it 4/1 that the UK votes to remain before the year is out.

But a General Election this year is looking increasingly likely at 6/4, with Theresa May running out of options.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Following Bercow’s decision there’s been an increased spike in bets for a second referendum, however, the odds still favour a 2019 General Election over another EU vote.”
