Raab’s rule: Punters back Raab for Tory leader

Published:
Dominic Raab

Our traders have trimmed Dominic Raab’s chances of becoming the next permanent leader of the Conservatives, following plenty of interest from punters.

We’ve seen money pouring in for Raab to step up since Theresa May announced she could step down in the near future.

The former Brexit Secretary is now 8/1 to take over the Tory leadership (was 10/1).

Michael Gove remains 7/2 favourite, narrowly ahead of 4/1 shot Boris Johnson.  He also heads the betting for the next Prime Minister at 4/1.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Raab has been the biggest market mover in the last 24 hours. However, contrary to reports that Javid fancies his chances in No.10, he is completely friendless with punters at the moment for the top job.”
