Mayday: Third Meaningful Vote odds-on not to pass after speech

Published:
Theresa May

Theresa May’s Brexit speech doesn’t look to have had the desired effect for the embattled Prime Minister, with our traders going 2/5 about a third meaningful vote failing.

The PM appeared to try and bring the country together during her speech on Wednesday. Instead it only served to put her even further at odds with disgruntled MPs.

Should a third meaningful vote take place, it’s now 7/4 for the deal to be approved, out from 10/11 earlier in the week.

If a deal isn’t approved, then Britain could be veering towards a No Deal Brexit by April 1st 2019, which is currently available at 5/2.

Meanwhile, the odds have also been slashed into 5/4 that a General Election takes place this year, with May 2019 the favoured month at 5/2.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “If the odds are to be believed, May’s speech doesn’t seem to have done the trick.”
