Match odds
The odds clearly tell the story. City, with nine home wins on the spin (scoring 39 times in the process) are 1/7 to win the match tonight. They’re a mighty 1/200 to go through.
Visitors Schalke are in a dismal run of form, and are a chunky 20/1 to win the game. To go through in 90 minutes they must win by two goals or score at least three goals, which leaves their odds progression at 25s. A 2-0 win is 150/1, while 3-1 is 200/1.
Talking tactics
City showed a little European naivety in the first leg, but they should have things under control second time around.
Guardiola’s only major concern this evening is in defence, where Nicolas Otamendi is suspended and both John Stones and Aymeric Laporte are battling minor injuries.
But there are no absences up front. Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling have been in blistering form of late, and will be supported by one of Riyad Mahrez or Leroy Sane.
David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne will look to unlock a Schalke defence which is winless in six games, and has conceded 17 goals in that time.

City will fancy themselves for a few goals tonight, with the visitors in such leaky defensive form.
