La Liga tips: Routine wins for Atletico, Barcelona and Real?

Barcelona hold a seven-point lead at the top of La Liga, but with 12 games still to go, it’s all still to play for.

Atletico Madrid haven’t given up hope yet, while Getafe and Alaves are still continuing an unlikely-but-brilliant battle for the final Champions League spot.

As ever, we’ve picked out the best of the weekend’s fixtures and those all important odds…

Atletico Madrid v Leganes

Diego Simeone’s men have picked up 32 points at home this term. That’s two more than league leaders Barca, so Atleti should be confident of another victory at the Wanda when Leganes visit.

Leganes, from the Madrid suburbs, are going nicely this term in 11th. But that isn’t enough to stop Atletico being chalked up as 1/2 favourites. Manuel Pellegrino’s visitors are 15/2 for a surprise away win.

Alvaro Morata is already looking at home in Atletico red and white. The Spaniard has netted three times in his last two games, and is 14/5 to net the first goal. Antoine Griezmann heads up the betting though at 13/5.

Barcelona v Rayo Vallecano

But Atleti are unlikely to make up ground on the leaders this weekend, with Barca hosting relegation-threatened Vallecano.

Ernesto Valverde’s men are 2/13 for another three points, with the visitors – who have lost their last five games – an unlikely 20/1.

Vallecano’s recent trips to the Camp Nou have been brutal; they’ve lost their last six games at the iconic venue by an aggregate 27-4 scoreline.

There’s 5/2 about Barca to win on the -3 handicap, with Lionel Messi – with a mighty 16 goals in just nine games versus Vallecano – 7/4 to score first and 13/8 to score two or more.

Real Vallodolid v Real Madrid

Real Madrid should make it three wins from three for the leading trio, but you just don’t know with this Real side do you?

Los Blancos have been dismal of late, losing four of their last five games. The latter of course, saw them booted out of the Champions League in a 4-1 thrashing by Ajax on home soil on Tuesday night.

Rumours are flying that Santiago Solari is on borrowed time, and he’ll feel the heat even more if Madrid can’t beat a Vallodolid side which has failed to win 15 of their last 17 league games.

This should be the perfect game for Real to turn things around, and 6/10 says they pick up a much-needed win.

Karin Benzema is 16/5 favourite to net first, with Gareth Bale – whose Madrid future is also in the balance – next up at 4/1.
