ITV Racing Tips: Will Auxerre extend his winning streak?

The Grand National is just around the corner now. But hold your horses, because the flat is back this weekend!
The ITV Racing crew will be in position to bring you all the action as the flat season starts at Doncaster and Kempton.

Auxerre might not have much experience, but there’s been plenty of justified excitement about Charlie Appleby’s gelding.
After coming second on his debut at Newmarket last June, he’s won on each of his following three runs.
Appleby saw Secret Brief win the Lincoln in 2016 and he’ll fancy Auxerre’s chances of landing his second victory in the race.
There’s a competitive field in this Magnolia Stakes renewal, but Matterhorn looks the one to beat.
He comes into this on the back of five straight wins. That run includes a C&D victory earlier this month, when the four-year-old romped home comfortably.
This will be his first Listed entry, but there’s a sense that there’s still more to come from Mark Johnston’s colt.
Eirene tends to do well at Doncaster, finishing in the top three on each of her previous runs there.
This will be her first race since November, but three frame finishes in her last four races suggests the places are well within reach.
The firm ground might pose an issue, but Eirene still looks a decent each-way shout.
