Euro 2020 qualifier tips: Easy wins for Portugal and France?

The road to Euro 2020 continues at pace tonight, with seven more qualifiers to enjoy.

Portugal v Ukraine

With away trips to Ukraine and Serbia still to come, Portugal haven’t been handed the easiest path into the automatic spots in Group B.

So Cristiano Ronaldo and co will need to take advantage of a home opener versus the Ukrainians, and they’re 4/9 to collect three points in Lisbon.

Ukraine are 15/2, but Portugal haven’t lost a competitive game on home soil since 2014. That man Ronaldo is 15/8 to net first, with the Juventus star 10/3 to bag two goals or more.

Moldova v France

France were arguably the best team at Euro 2016, but they did come good on their potential with a sensational World Cup-winning performance. Can they now back that up with the Euros as they did in 1998 and 2000?

They should cruise through Group F, starting with an away trip to Moldova. Didier Deschamps men are 1/14 favourites, while you’ve got to get Les Bleus on the -3 handicap before you go odds-against at 15/8.

Our traders are sniffing a bit of a trouncing here, with 11/4 on a 4-0 French success. Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe share first goalscorer favouritism at 13/5, with Mbappe 7/2 for a brace and 14s for a hat-trick.

Bulgaria v Montenegro

The other clash in Group A sees Bulgaria host England’s next opponents, Montenegro. Both sides know it won’t be easy to progress, with both England and Croatia in the quintet.

But with both the Three Lions and Kosovo boasting play-off places already, there could be something on offer at the end of it all for this pair.

Bulgaria may not be the 1994 World Cup heroes of old, but they’ve lost only one of their last seven. They’ve also lost just two of their last 12 on home soil, beating both Sweden and the Netherlands.

So they’ll fancy themselves at 6/5 for an opening game win, with Montenegro 5/2 outsiders. The visitors have drawn three of their last five away games 0-0, and there’s 21/10 about a draw and 13/2 for another stalemate.
