Dan Skelton has three runners on Ladies Day at Cheltenham

Roksana’s Mares’ Hurdle win was absolutely brilliant! We really couldn’t be happier!

I suppose you could say we were lucky winners as Ruby was probably going to win but that’s how racing goes; you’re up one minute and down the next.

Even if our mare came second she would have had a lot of positive reports. All racing today has been hard but fair play to Roksana, she dug deep and we are over the moon.

Ladies Day

Now onto Wednesday, where we start with Beakstown in the Ballymore at 1.30. After he won the Leamington Hurdle, we’ve always aimed for one of the festivals.

We didn’t think we would go to Cheltenham immediately, but in the last three weeks I’ve been very happy with him. I think he’s in the first five or six in the betting and I hope he goes out and confirms he’s a good horse amongst these top novices’.

Nobody would be shocked if he won; he’s definitely good enough. Some others around him have Grade One form, which is why he isn’t head of the market.

Knight In Dubai runs in the Coral Cup at 2.50 and we’ve had this race in mind ever since he ran at Newbury. I don’t think we did as well with him last year as we should have done.

I would ignore his run at the festival last year as he was just over the top by then. He’s different this year.

He’s in good form, he’s fresh, and gets a nice weight in this. I am really looking forward to him running. I give him a fair each-way chance.

We run King D’argent in the Fred Winter at 4.50 and we deliberately didn’t run him since we got a mark of 129. We knew that it was probably good enough to get in.

We didn’t want to go up and make life harder and at the same time we didn’t want to go down and not get in.

He’s in good form, a fast run race will suit him, and he’s got form on soft/heavy in a maiden in Ireland behind a very good horse on the flat so I am really looking forward to it. I think we have some lovely chances on Wednesday.
