Theresa gone before May? Odds shortened for early General Election

Theresa May

Our traders have trimmed the odds of an early General Election following a flurry of recent bets.

The odds of a snap election being called on the 2nd May has dropped to 6/1, a date which would see the General Election coincide with Local Elections.

Meanwhile, the odds of the UK leaving the EU with no deal on March 29th continued to shorten, now down to just 7/4. The chances of a second referendum however seem to have become more remote; it’s now 7/2 that a People’s Vote occurs in 2019.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “A flurry of bets has forced us to slash odds on an early General Election, while a No Deal Brexit is also looking more likely by the day.”
