Championship Tips: Derby and Blackburn to get it done on the road?

Martyn Waghorn - Derby County

West Bromwich Albion saw their promotion hopes dented last night, dropping two points at home to Nottingham Forest.

That will have pleased the Baggies’ fellow challengers, and a number of them are in action tonight – including Leeds United and Derby County.

Meanwhile, Bolton Wanderers made a big stride in the battle against relegation with victory at St Andrew’s. Can their fellow strugglers match them?

We give our tips on the evening’s key clashes…

Leeds United v Swansea City

It could be goals, goals, goals at Elland Road tonight. Leeds have notched in 25 of their last 26 games in all competitions, but are without a clean sheet in four.

With the pair’s early-season meeting ending 2-2 in South Wales, we go 9/5 on another round of Over 3.5 Goals.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men have racked up 30 points from their 15 home games in the Championship, and should just edge out their patchy visitors It’s 4/6 for the Whites to march on with three points.

The Swans won’t be happy to see Kemar Roofe. He’s netted three times in his two previous outings against them, and is 21/20 to strike Anytime.

Ipswich Town v Derby County

The rock-bottom Tractor Boys saw their season go from bad to worse on Sunday, losing 3-0 to arch-rivals Norwich City, with boss Paul Lambert banished to the stands.

Frank Lampard’s rampant Rams have already won at Carrow Road and The Hawthorns (to name just a couple!) this season. And they could run riot against the league’s leakiest defence.

It’s 5/6 for Derby to scoop the points, while a 3-0 win for the visitors is up for grabs at 14/1.

Martyn Waghorn is back amongst the goals, with four in five. He’s 2/1 to pounce at Portman Road for another.

Reading v Blackburn Rovers

The Royals could soon lose the pleasure of dining in the second tier. Two points from safety, they’re in need of a win. But Blackburn are a tough nut to crack.

Jose Manuel Gomes’ side have won just once since 3rd November, while Tony Mowbray’s men have come up trumps in four of their last six league games.

We go 33/20 for Blackburn to win it, while a fifth 1-0 win of the season for the Lancashire club is 15/2.

Reading’s games this term have averaged the fifth-lowest average goals of any side in the division. Backing a snoozefest here? It’s 23/10 for Under 1.5 Goals.

Preston North End v Norwich City

Two of the league’s most in-form sides meet at Deepdale tonight. Both have racked up 13 points across their last five games.

Norwich don’t mind a draw on the road. They’ve already had seven of them in the Champ this season. Another round of even-stevens is 12/5, with a 2-2 draw on offer at 11s.

PNE ace Alan Browne is in fine form. The midfield maestro has scored five in nine, breaking the deadlock on their last two away days. The Irish ace is 12/5 Anytime, and 15/2 to open the scoring.
