Noel Fehily preview his rides at Wincanton and Naas

I have had a better week with a couple of winners for my old boss Charlie Mann, which I was very grateful for to get 2019 going in the right fashion.

My weekend plans have changed as having been set to be at Plumpton on Sunday I will instead be in Ireland to ride for Willie Mullins in the Grade 1 hurdle.

Saturday will be spent at Wincanton where I have four rides with chances, starting with Cesar Et Rosalie (1.05).

I thought he didn’t run too badly last time at Newcastle. I think he has probably been crying out for this trip of three miles, one furlong, so I would be hoping he would run well.

Barton Knoll (2.05) is a horse I have yet to ride so I don’t know an awful lot about him but he won well at Doncaster last time.

He looked like he jumped well and won by a wide distance, looking quite impressive. I am hoping he can be in some way competitive.

Gulshanigans (2.40) is another horse I do not know a great deal about. He finished second on his first run for Jack Barber the other day after nearly 600 days off, which wasn’t too bad a run after such a long break.

I have only ridden for Jack once before and it won so hopefully he is not putting me up for no reason.

My last ride on the card is Winston C (3.50) who I thought ran pretty well on his first start at Huntingdon in what probably wasn’t a bad race.

I think he could go well. The Paul Nicholls horse My Way isn’t too bad but Winston C would be my best chance of a winner.

I am heading to Naas on Sunday to ride Getareason (1.50) in the Grade 1 Novices’ Hurdle, in which Willie Mullins has three runners.

He did run well the last day at Navan, which I think surprised them, and he might be improving a little bit.

Obviously Ruby will probably be on the most fancied Willie Mullins horse in the race, Tornado Flyer, but with Getareason running so well last time I am hoping he would be a placed chance.

He was given a very high Racing Post Rating for that run. If he can run to that it would put him in the mix.
